I've lived in Georgia my whole life and never heard of sun hoodies until this year. Just got one and am about to try it out!

Btw, I'm a fellow Athens, Ga Substacker. Good to see you here!

You’ll like the sun shirts. Yeah good to see a fellow Athenian. Alex Wilder pointed me your direction.

I think he mentioned you to me, too! The idea of long sleeves and a hood in the summer sounds absolutely crazy to me, but we shall see!!

I work outside every day. Once I quit trying to do sunscreen the difference was amazing. But when you first put one on it takes some getting used to.

I feel like the heat is especially oppressive this year. I could just be a year older and crankier.

Totally agree with you on the hooded sun tees. I pretty much live in them since moving to Florida. If you haven't tried a Howler Loggerhead hoodie yet, give one a try. Slightly heavier material than the Columbia (or similar) thin polyester, but so versatile. Especially once the most ridiculous of the heat breaks.

Will definitely look at them. I like the PFG for the price and durability. It’s not just the sun- we have horses and alfalfa hay is incredibly itchy. The shirts keep it off my skin and the hay doesn’t stick to them. I am constantly working in peoples shrubs a lot of which cause skin irritation and again the shirts save me. I treat them with permethrin to fend off mosquitoes and ticks which saves me having to use DEET. They have solved a whole bunch of problems for me.

bought a sun hoodie once from Tsurinoya on AliExpress, together with some minnow lures. Now I own a whole shelf of assorted sun hoodies.. just so much better than anything else in the heat. Colorado used to get maybe one week a year in the 90s, now we hit 100s on the regular and 90s is just a summer day. At least it's dry, still the mile-high means the UV is harsh.

I have one of those soft-bottomed indoor jobs but spend as much time as possible outside, have the melanoma scars to prove it.. so started just covering everything against the sun, the hoodies have been great.
